Going to this Saturday’s Downtown Farmers Market in Cedar Rapids? Here is a way you can help feed the hungry, from the United Way:
The United Way will lead a Fresh Produce Food Drive this Saturday July 21st at the Cedar Rapids Downtown Market from 7:30am to noon. As part of Freedom From Hunger, United Way invites market attendees to purchase produce at the market and deliver to their booth in Greene Square Park. All fresh produce donations will go to Foundation 2 Crisis Center food pantry. Freedom From Hunger is a community food challenge/drive that occurs May 28th thru July 31st. Donated foods are distributed by HACAP Food Reservoir to emergency food programs. For more information about Freedom From Hunger please contact Amanda Pieper at 319.739.0020 or apieper@hacap.org.
