In lieu of actual content (Friday afternoon, dog days of summer, slow news day, whatever), I’m presenting a simple poll.
But the results may be interesting. Is it a grudge game that entices you the most, a rivalry game, or the game you see as the most-challenging on the schedule?
That said, which of the following Iowa football games are you most looking forward to this season? Feel free to expound in the comments section. In fact, please do.
I have eliminated the obvious non-choices, like Northern Illinois, Central Michigan and Indiana and Purdue. If one of those is your answer, there’s a comments section for you to state that and elaborate. In fact, please do.
I vote for the game at Michigan. To me, it’s the biggest challenge on the slate … as of now.
Free Floyd, I want my pig back!
Considering Iowa has found a way to lose to either Minnesota, Indiana or Northwestern in each of the past seven years (10 losses total over that span), those three games will have as much impact on a bowl trip as Michigan, Penn State or Nebraska. Win the easier games first, fellas.
Is it just me? Or has Captain kirk eased up a little? seems like the other coach’s are beening given a little more opportunity with the player and it seems like there is a very good attitude with them…….Hope so, best to them all, Time Iowa starts kicking some major butt on a regular basis
i pick mich st. and for a simple reason. this game will shape how well iowa does for the rest of the season. if Iowa plays very well, we could be looking at a dark horse candidate for number 2 in the big 10, if they win they could sneak into the title game. if they lose badly, it could be a very long year
and by title game i’m talking big 10 title
I miss the 63-10 scores of Iowa vs. NW, Iowa vs. Indiana, Iowa vs. ISU, etc….and the occasionaly 49-7 vs. Minny.
On the other hand, will this be the year that Capt. Kirk let’s his OC and 5th-year-senior step on the throat of a team on the ropes rather than help them up and let a defense that’s not capable of holding a lead cough it up? Golly, I REALLY hope so! I miss the days of stomping on the heads of teams that were down…
Floyd wants home. The Hawks need to atone for their last two performances against the Goofers.
With the Badgers off the schedule……..I hope we beat a team that wears red….we need to husk some corn.
Agreed! Its time to stomp on some weak teams! Its good to get the young players some snaps but they can get snaps when we’re up 45 not 14.
The biggest game is to prove to Nebraska we can be a rival with them. We have no wins against them since 1981 and Nebby fans think we have no chance against them. Also we need a win for recruiting. Being a border state we’ll be fighting for the same recruits every year.
I choose penn st. 2 selfish reasons it a night game and its my b-day. GO HAWKS!!!!
