This, apparently, is the look Iowa will sport when it plays Iowa State in Kinnick Stadium on Sept. 8.
The photo was taken by Don Muret at Scheels in Coralville’s Coral Ridge Mall.
Do you like it? You tell me. The ballot box is below the photo.
UPDATE: Brent Yarina of BTN.com says the above photo isn’t representative of the bright gold color and offers this photo:
It’s ok but I think these “Turn Back the Clock” games jumped the shark about 10 years ago.
That said, I could get behind it if Iowa State wears the Walden/Criner era uniforms. Then the game can be 54-7 and we all leave midway through the 3rd quarter.
Just like the ol’ days.
“Aaaayyyyy! Jumping sharks is still cool Mike.”

Somehow I see Mid-American conference when I see this uniform. The uniform will probably will help ISU win.
First there were tear-away jurseys, then throw-back jerseys and now there’s throw-away jerseys.
Ohhhh, the humanity! Sub-par at best. This jersey goes next to the America Needs Farmers original trophy.
Dear Mr. Barta,
I am applying for the open position of Marketing Director for the University Throwback Jersey Committee.
Thank you,
Cal
I know that the Commings years were perhaps the worst (or close) period for Iowa football in its history but I loved the uniforms and helmet they had during that period (the cursive “iowa” was cool)–so why not celebrate the 35 year anniversary of Iowa’s 12-10 win in the resumption of the series in 1977 with those uni’s?
And if not this year, at least at some point in the future?
