Another member of Ron Paul's Liberty Movement has landed a job at the Republican Party of Iowa.
Steve Bierfeldt, who was vice president of development for Paul-aligned Campaign for Liberty, a conservative lobbying group focused on free markets, civil liberties and the Constitution, has been hired as the new executive director of the RPI. His appointment was confirmed by the State Central Committee after the party's state convention June 16.
He also worked national field director for the the Virginia-based Leadership Institute, which teaches conservatives the nuts and bolts of how to succeed in the public policy process. Bierfeldt directed the organization's field program, focused on forming conservative student organizations on colleges and universities across the country. While there, the Leadership Institute created its 1,000th conservative student organization in the fall of 2006.
He spent two years with the Campaign for Liberty where he was responsible for implementing fundraising programs, donor cultivation, and acquiring high dollar sponsorships from individuals as well as organizations and businesses.
In 2010, Bierfeldt served as regional director for the Rand Paul U.S. Senate campaign in Kentucky. Paul defeated his primary opponent by more than 23 points and won the general election by 12 points.
