HIAWATHA - A short police chase ended in a two-vehicle collision in Hiawatha Tuesday afternoon.
Hiawatha police said an officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a motorcyclist near the Hiawatha Fire Station, 60 N 10th Ave., but the driver did not stop.
The officer pursued the motorcyclist at unknown speeds at approximately 4:45 p.m. for about six to eight blocks until the motorcycle collided with a silver sedan at the intersection of N 18th Ave. and Emmons St., police said.
The unidentified male driver of the motorcycle was taken into custody and will most likely face multiple charges, police said. No one was injured in the collision, but both vehicles were towed.
The Hiawatha Fire Department was on scene to clean up fuel leakage, and Linn County Sheriff's deputies assisted with traffic.
