According to the Iowa Barnstormers’ website, former Iowa wide receiver Derrell Johnson-Koulianos was “reassigned” Monday after being signed by the arena team Jan. 18.

His Twitter status lists him as a wide receiver for the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes, although the Alouettes’ website doesn’t list him on the roster.

Barnstormers Coach Mike Hohensee told WHO-TV a short training camp was a main reason for DJK’s getting cut, saying he wasn’t catching on to the indoor game quickly.

The station reported DJK signed with the Alouettes and hopes to join them next season.
