IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa guard Samantha Logic has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second straight week after her performance in Iowa’s win at Michigan last Thursday. The announcement was made today by the Big Ten office.

Logic collected her second straight double-double, and her fourth of the season, with 12 points and a career-high 18 rebounds in Thursday’s victory. Her 18 rebounds are the most by an Iowa freshman and are the most, in a Big Ten game, this season.

Logic also buried a clutch 3-pointer with 1:16 left in the game to pull the Hawkeyes within two points. She added four assists and a steal in 36 minutes of action.

Logic earned Big Ten co-Player and Big Ten Freshman of the Week after Iowa’s victories over Minnesota and Michigan State last week.

Logic and the Hawkeyes return to action on Thursday at Northwestern. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
