DUBUQUE — The intensity at Plaza Bowl in Clinton was sky high as Dubuque Hempstead senior Austin Massey was trying to anchor his team to another trip to state at the 2A Regional Bowling Championships.

Massey’s team had a 40-pin lead going into the final game, but the host school, Clinton, came from behind to upset Hempstead. Later that night, Massey found out he and his teammates were granted one of two at-large bids to the state tournament.
