A mother is hoping that whoever has the negatives and photos of her two children will return them to the Des Moines photo shop that misplaced them.

Des Moines television station KCCI reports Connie Thomas’ children died in a 1996 car crash.

In January she took the negatives and last photos of 2-year-old Shelby and 13-month-old Stephen to Christian Photo for copies.

When she returned, she was told the negatives and photos accidentally were given to another customer.

Dick Christian, of Christian Photo, says he and his employees also are upset by the loss.

Christian says he got a call two weeks ago from a customer who said he had an envelope with Thomas’ name on it and that he would bring it in the next day. He didn’t.
