Coe looks like a no go (Update: Not over yet)

Recent Tweet suggests he doesn't want to play D-line, where Iowa wants him

Some of you might remember Rodney Coe. He signed in the 2011 class and was a really, really big get, literally and figuratively.

He was a 258-pound running back. He didn’t qualify and Iowa helped him find a place at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs.

His 250 pounds drifted to 270. IWCC coaches wanted him to think D-line. Iowa wanted him to think D-line. According to his Twitter feed, he wants nothing to do with D-line.

This is from Monday morning:

If I have to play d-line…… #notgoingtoiowa

I don’t think Coe was ever going to play RB at Iowa. Sometimes, Twitter is open to quick, emotional responses. It doesn’t come with a cooling off period and people can and do change their minds after tweeting something emotionally charged.

So, for now, I’d say it looks like a done deal.

As a non-qualifier, Coe wouldn’t have been eligible to play at Iowa until he received his associate’s degree, which might not have been until the 2013 season.

I had a little interaction with Rodney Coe. He remains open to Iowa, so, as I said, there’s no binding statement pretty much ever made in an emotional moment on Twitter.

I’m not saying exactly I won’t go to Iowa, I just mean i had other places I would of gone if I was to play DL.

If you decided to interact with any Iowa player or prospect on social media, remember you ultimately represent Iowa.
