From Notice of Hearing and Statement of Charges for Inspirations Salon & Spa and owner Ann Robinson of Cedar Rapids:

On July 15, 2010, an investigator inspected respondents' salon and observed that individual licenses were not posted at the front of the salon. Nor were sanitation rules and the most recent inspection report posted. No biohazard bag was located in the salon.

Additionally, hair and debris were found in whirlpool spa screens, which were not cleaned daily. Used combs were not placed in jars containing disinfectant, neck bands were not being used, small tools were not fully submerged in Barbicide, hair-covered brushes were stored with clean brushes and hair was observed on clean supplies. Neck bands were not in use.

A disciplinary contested case hearing will be held Feb. 20 before the Board of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences.
