






A Cedar Falls man died Wednesday night after falling through the ice at George Wyth State Park.
The man was identified Thursday morning as Wade William Clark, 51, of Cedar Falls.
According to a news release, Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire and Rescue responded to the park, 657 Reserve Dr., at about 7:30 p.m. after receiving a report that a person had fallen through the ice.
The rescue crew located a fishing spot on the ice, where they believed the person went underwater. The crew then located Clark under water and brought him to the surface.
Responders treated Clark before he was taken by ambulance to Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Doctors pronounced Clark dead shortly after his arrival.
