We’ve had videos of Iowa basketball recruit Mike Gesell sinking 3-pointers and making some nice moves to the basket.

Now, thanks to the Hlog’s good friend and contributor, Brian Vakulskas of Sioux City, here’s footage of the 6-foot-2 guard from South Sioux City (Neb.) dunking off a breakaway.

This was in the Cardinals’ game against Sioux City Heelan on Jan. 10. Gesell had 30 points in SSC’s 76-68 victory.

  1. Thats amazing I saw him at an Iowa game this year and quite frankly he is not a big kid. I’d say under 6 foot so being able to slam is impressive!

    • I talked to him in Arizona and think he’s a legit 6-1, Lon. But I could be wrong. I’m 5-11, and anybody who is a half-inch taller than me seems a lot taller.

  2. Wait a minute, are you telling me that next year we are going to have TWO Gingers on the team? I’m not sure, but I think that somehow violates the Geneva Convention.

  3. Jon;
    I admitt I am not very bright…..what are TWO Gingers and what does it mean?
