Tyrone White spent much of his Sunday doing what many others enjoyed: Watching the NFL playoffs.

White, however, also spent much of this day wondering why his wife would find a resealable bag containing a small rock and a sheet of paper with words that glorify the Ku Klux Klan.

Underneath a drawing of a figure dressed like a Klan member, in white hood and sheets, are the words:

“NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH.  You can sleep tonight knowing the Klan is awake!”

The bottom of the page lists a website and an email address for people to report “troubles” in a neighborhood.

“We’re a bi-racial couple,” said White.  “I’m kind of offended.”

White said he has lived in his home near Oakland Road and 42nd Street NE for two years and has been a Cedar Rapids resident for nearly a decade.

On Sunday night, Cedar Rapids police said there is nothing illegal or criminal about the literature.
