If you are using an older browser, you may be experiencing a muddled view of our revised Opinion online page. Try refreshing the page to clear the cache. That should do it in most cases.
Or, eventually, the “bad version” should be cleared out on its own.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
Thanks for the explanation. I usually use Firefox and mine cleared out the “bad version” on its own sometime this afternoon. Much easier to read.
Now if only my browser could clean up some of the stupid comments which get posted here…
Okay, Jeff, I’m venting, and yes, I will name names.
I am an arrogant, aggressive person. Deal with it. I focus on arguments here, but don’t pull my punches, which upsets admin quite frequently.
Ray and Zach Calef are honorable men; so, too, is Todd Johnson. Will Shotfeel and I have had fruitful exchanges. Shoot, I can abide Sue Kettleson, sometimes.
Why then have Jeremy Cobert, Joseph Carpenter, and now Kevin Curl had to take shots at me professionally? Unless they have deployed really cool surveillance technology, not one of those three has ever seen me at work in the classroom.
Not one has, as far as I know, ever stood at the front of a classroom. Not one knows how I am held accountable by my department dean. Not one has ever offered a shred of credible evidence for ad hominem attacks which are a priori out-of-bounds.
Jeff, those three men need to knock off the personal attacks, or be banned from the page.
Part of the rough-and-tumble of unfettered conversation is that you have to endure comments that appear (or even are) inappropriate. That is what Human Nature is. People banning is just as wrong-headed as book banning.
