An impressive weekend earned University of Iowa’s Tony Ramos a share of the Big Ten’s Wrestler of the Week award. The Hawkeyes’ 133-pound sophomore shared the honor with Ohio State freshman 133-pounder Logan Stieber.
Ramos, ranked third by Wrestling Insider Newsmagazine, scored a major decision over second-ranked B.J. Futrell of Illinois on Friday. He followed that with a second-period fall over Iowa State’s Shayden Terukina on Sunday, helping Iowa win both duals. He improved to 10-0.
