KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – The Kansas City Chiefs have signed offensive lineman Rob Bruggeman and wide receiver Zeke Markshausen to their practice squad.

The Chiefs made the moves Wednesday, one day after they released backup left tackle Jared Gaither and moved fellow left tackle David Sims from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

Bruggeman, a former Cedar Rapids Washington prep and center at the University of Iowa, played two games with Atlanta over the past two seasons after entering the NFL as a rookie free agent with Tampa Bay in 2009.

Markshausen went to training camp with the Chiefs this season. He adds wide receiver depth after Kerry Colbert was released to make room for quarterback Kyle Orton, who was claimed off waivers from the Broncos last week following a season-ending injury to Matt Cassel.
