Crews fight flames at Tiffin construction company

TIFFIN - Several fire departments spent hours Wednesday night battling a large fire at Freeman Construction in Tiffin.

Responders were called to the scene around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday off Greenfield Drive, just south of Interstate 80. When they got there, they found the building engulfed in flames.

Tiffin Fire Chief Brian Detert said the cold and wet conditions made it difficult for crews to battle the flames quickly, so firefighters rotated in and out of the building.

No one was inside at the time, but responders were able to pull a dog out safely.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
