A Cedar Rapids woman was hospitalized Friday with serious injuries after police said she and another man were found with multiple stab wounds.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said Cedar Rapids police responded about 4:02 p.m. to 1440 Third Ave. SE, where they found Raquel Truax, 29, and Shaheed Pendleton, 32, with multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen. Truax was taken to Mercy Medical Center and later transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Pendleton, who was treated and released from St. Luke's Hospital, was subsequently arrested for violating a no-contact order and taken to the Linn County Jail, where he was being held without bond.
Police continue to investigate.
