Mediacom to air NFL Network, NFL RedZone

Mediacom and NFL Network agreed to a long-term agreement, which will put the channel on the media company's digital plus level of service by the start of the 2011 regular season.

Mediacom, the nation's eighth-largest cable company, also will air NFL Network's RedZone, a channel that bounces from game-to-game based on potential scoring situations, on its a la carte service.

NFL Network has local flavor with Cedar Rapids native and former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner as a full-time analyst. Iowa City native, former Iowa quarterback and local television personality Paul Burmeister serves as a host for a variety of shows. NFL Network airs NFL-related content, original programming and games, plus live Arena League and Canadian Football League games in the summer.

NFL Network broadcasts eight live regular-season games in November and December and airs multiple  replays of the top regular-season games. The network also airs every preseason game live or tape-delayed.

Corridor companies South Slope and ImOn Communications also carry NFL Network.

Cedar Rapids, IA – August 18, 2011 - Mediacom Communications and NFL Network announced today that they have reached a new, long-term agreement for carriage of NFL Network.  Mediacom, the eighth largest cable operator in the country, will also offer the innovative NFL RedZone channel to its customers. NFL Network and NFL RedZone will be available through Mediacom in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and surrounding areas in time for the 2011 NFL season.

NFL Network will be available on Mediacom’s Digital Plus level of service (HD channel 766 and SD channel 186). NFL RedZone, which airs on Sundays throughout the regular season, will be offered a la carte to Mediacom subscribers (HD channel 767 and SD channel 187).
