After about two years in prison, a Wilton man convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the death of an Iowa City man was granted work release Wednesday.
In 2009, a judge sentenced Curtis Fry to ten years for the February 2008 death of 75-year-old Jerome McEwen.
After a night of celebrating his 21st birthday, prosecutors said Fry was intoxicated when he broke into McEwen's home and beat the man to death.
