Police are looking for two suspects connected to several burglaries that happened over the weekend in a neighborhood populated by University of Iowa students.

Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers on Monday offered a reward of $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of one white male and one black male. Both are described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and stocky.

Police say they could be tied to at least four burglaries along Johnson, Van Buren and Dodge streets between 11 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 a.m. Sunday. At one of the residences, a man was inside his apartment when he heard a knock at the door.

When he did not answer, burglars attempted to force the door open but fled after he announced his presence. Another resident saw a burglar climbing out a window.
