Facts on Dubuque’s noise enforcement efforts
  1. With the new Noise-Ordinance in effect for there in Dubuque, that means that the ones who own a Harley, will not be going through there, as Harleys are made to be loud…I guess for people who are traveling on a Harley from out of state and are going to Dubuque will get a ticker if they do not know about this noise ordinance??? Come on Citizens give the bikers a break, and do not give them a ticket, it needs to be for the ones that have their Radios with subs up loud, they are the ones you can hear more than a Harley!!!!!!

  2. Dubuque is doing the right thing and it should be state wide. I’d like someone to explain why Harley riders are allowed to operate their vehicles without mufflers and everone else isn’t. If it were a car, truck or any other make of motorcycle making as much teeth rattling, ear piercing noise as an unmuffled Harley, they would get pulled over in a heartbeat but Harley riders seem to be allowed to make as much noise as they want. WHY? It is selective law enforcement and it needs to stop.

  3. It’s selective law enforcement all right….a truck with a muffler does not make any more noise withies Jake brake on than it does accelerating …..but the cops can right a ticket for Jake braking….I agree in the past a truck with no muffler running it’s Jake is as bad as a harley…..but the Harley was always given a break…I think the cops are scared of bikers…..
