This is where 3,500 of you will be. The Iowa ticket request for Nebraska is closer to 10,000.

I received this e-mail today from a Hawkeye fan. It’s from the UI ticket office and it’s grim if you’re still looking for Nebraska tickets.

The Nebraska ticket is gonzo. Just fire up the big screen or the console or the Curtis Mathes. Whatever sort of TV viewing situation you have, that’s probably going to be as good as it gets to being there.

Already, I get the feeling this is a bigger rivalry than Iowa State.

Here’s the e-mail (thanks to the e-mailer!):

Dear XXXXXXX,

Sorry, but due to the large demand of tickets for the Iowa versus Nebraska game we are unable to accommodate your request for 2 tickets. Requests were filled based on priority points, with 400 points as the minimum number of points required for fulfillment of the public allotment of tickets.

If your account was charged a $6 order fee, for only this request, your order fee will be refunded to your credit card. If you had sent a check to the ticket office, your check will be returned to you.

I know that this is a disappointment for you, but we did have requests for approximately 9600 tickets with only 3500 available for distribution to our fans.

  1. Curtis Mathes! lol. Your killing me Marc. And making me feel old.

  2. curtis mathes…oh my! like iowa stands a chance to beat Big Red!

  3. Jeez, McCauley, it’s not like the Huskers were invincible last year. They lost some games, and there is no reason to believe they have turned into the 1970′s Steelers in the eight months since. This should be a great game this year, and it may even decide the division.
