UPDATED with photos: Three men are accused of participating in the sexual assault of a resident at an Anamosa care facility.
Anamosa police arrested Allen M. Franks, 19, of Cedar Rapids, and Timothy M. Stromberg, 50, of Clinton, on Thursday after officers took a report that a 21-year-old resident of the Fairview Care Facility, 104 Broadway Place, had been sexually assaulted repeatedly in the past week. Franks is charged with three counts of second-degree sexual abuse, and Stromberg is charged with four counts of second-degree sexual abuse.
Bruce J. Brecht, 20, of Marengo, was also arrested on two counts of conspiracy to commit second-degree sexual abuse. Police said he acted as the lookout, while Franks and Stromberg carried out the assaults.
The investigation revealed that the female resident had been repeatedly assaulted since Saturday, Anamosa Police Chief Bob Simonson said in a news release. Police learned of the assaults on Wednesday evening.
All three of the men charged had been court-ordered to the care facility, police said. They were taken to the Jones County Jail and were scheduled to make an initial court appearance Friday.
