Even here in Iowa, there is no debate that Ohio State's tumultuous offseason has been the biggest news to come out of the Big Ten.

Coach Jim Tressel, who guided the Buckeyes to six straight Big Ten titles, resigned. Quarterback Terrelle Pryor, the quarterback for three of those, has forgone his senior season for the riches of the . . . well, we're not quite sure. If all the "allegedly" holds up, he might be headed for a paycut in the Canadian Football League.

We also touched on Scott's story, "Special report: How pass interference, a jawbreaker and tossed apples nearly canned the Iowa-Illinois football rivalry." Here's a link to that. You don't see too many characters like Rocky Ryan and Richard Wolfe come up in sports stories anymore.

We touch briefly on recruiting, in the wake of the vist from HawkeyeReport.com's Tom Kakert. Iowa football recruiting has a chance to be where it usually is (on average since 2005), but there has been some no for 2012.
