The Sports Desk: On Iowa does Ohio State, Iowa-Ill ‘riot’ and football recruiting

Even here in Iowa, there is no debate that Ohio State’s tumultuous offseason has been the biggest news to come out of the Big Ten.

Coach Jim Tressel, who guided the Buckeyes to six straight Big Ten titles, resigned. Quarterback Terrelle Pryor, the quarterback for three of those, has forgone his senior season for the riches of the . . . well, we’re not quite sure. If all the “allegedly” holds up, he might be headed for a paycut in the Canadian Football League.

It’s early June, it’s college football, so Ohio State made for a good topic in the On Iowa version of Monday’s Sports Desk, brought to you by Dave Wright Subaru.

We touch briefly on recruiting, in the wake of the vist from HawkeyeReport.com’s Tom Kakert. Iowa football recruiting has a chance to be where it usually is (on average since 2005), but there has been some no for 2012.
