Kevin L. Perry, 22, of Iowa City, has been arrested in connection to a shot that was fired at 1958 Broadway street on Saturday. Perry is charged with two attempts to commit murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and possession of a weapon by a felon.
Reports indicate that Perry threatened to kill two individuals that he was arguing with and then pointed a gun at them, firing one shot. No one was injured, but all involved parties fled the scene, Iowa City Police said.
According to Iowa City Police, Perry has previous felony convictions in Illinois.
Perry was being held at the Johnson County Jail on a $217,500 cash-only bond Wednesday morning.
Each count of attempt to commit murder is a class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
Intimidation with a dangerous weapon is a class C felony punishable by 10 years in prison and a maximum $10,000 fine. Possession of a firearm by a felon is a class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a maximum $7,500 fine.
Officers say they were able to arrest Perry after someone called in a tip to CrimeStoppers.
Police say an officer was in the line of fire, but no one was hurt.
