The National Football Foundation released the names of the players and coaches on its College Football Hall of Fame ballot for this year. Among the 79 players are former Iowa tight end Marv Cook.
Cook was a consensus first-team All-America tight end in 1988. He was a two-time first-team All-Big Ten selection. He holds Iowa's career record for catches by a tight end (126).
He went on to a 7-year NFL career, with 257 career receptions. He was a first-team All-NFL pick by Associated Press in 1991.
Cook has been the head football coach at Regina High School in Iowa City, where he has amassed a 45-5 record in four years. The Regals won the state Class 2A championship last year.
