Podcast: ‘On Iowa’ discusses football position changes
  1. Marc;
    For the 1000 friend on Facebook, how about a gameday or Wednesday press day preseason game; being your shadow. I for one would love to see how hard a job you have and how much fun it must be.

    • I have to think of a way to include everyone. Job shadow? I don’t know. The heavy days, Tuesdays and game, are white-knuckle rides to the bitter end. I wouldn’t want that person feeling uncomfortable when I’m cussing into my computer.

  2. I really hope Brad Rogers is healthy and cleared. I think he will add a dimension we haven’t had since Jeremy Allen; a bruising Full Back who can catch passes and get down hill. He has also proven he is a very effective runner between the tackles. This Offense has a shot to be very exciting.

    As far the general team goes, don’t underestimate the “free market” competition going on. I have now said multiple times this team will be harder, hungrier and more “intense” this coming year. There is something to be said about turnover. It isn’t always good of course, but this team is not talent poor. If you follow the draft and combines you’ll know that Iowa pumps out more, speedy athletic guys every year. It is the number one reason I don’t sweat early entries, it only means we are more talented than we have ever been. We will likely have 1 or 2 or 3 more next year.

    This will be a fun season…..

    Chad

    • Rogers and Jeremy Allen are different bodies. Allen was 6-1, 240. Rogers is about 5-10, 220. Allen was a great all-around athlete. He had eight TDs his senior year in ’01. Rogers is probably a better runner, but isn’t quite the specimen Allen was.

      But you know, let’s hope and pray that Rogers’ health allows him the chance to show us what he can do.
