PHOENIX – Iowa fullback Brad Rogers will be held out of Iowa’s remaining practices and the Insight Bowl after a cardiology test, Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said Friday.
No other information was released. Rogers was at practice on Friday in Arizona.
The redshirt freshman was listed as Iowa’s No. 2 fullback and running back going into Tuesday’s matchup with Missouri. Now, Iowa has true freshman Marcus Coker at running back, senior Paki O’Meara and walk-on Jason White.
Rogers, a 5-foot-10, 215-pounder from Toledo, Ohio (Central Catholic HS), played in 11 games this season, rushing for 75 yards on 11 carries and catching two passes for 15 yards.
