At the Las Vegas Hilton, Caesars Palace, Wynn Las Vegas – you can’t place a bet on the Iowa-Missouri Insight Bowl right now, 3:50 p.m., Central time on Monday. (UPDATE: Missouri had been a 1-point favorite in most Nevada sports books this morning. The line moved to 1.5, 2, and in once casino, 2.5 this afternoon. Then it went down.

This from Vegasinsider.com has details.

Games are sometimes taken down when a pattern of large sums of money are placed on one team in a short period of time. Lines routinely fluctuate, but if there’s a surge of betting one on team — especially when it’s far from the date of the game – Vegas raises red flags.

The game has also been taken down at Bodog.com, an online gambling site.

Draw your own conclusions. I’m sure you will.

  1. yes…like the black cloud over this program and the vultures circling overhead…….

The hammer will befall this program soon. Iowa FB made a deal with the devil, after the 20 arrests and they go to an Orange Bowl a year later

Those days are gone. It’s gonna get a little ugly. ‘Vegas definitely smells something brewing

    • Vegas smells money.

When a lot of cash is wagered on one team and not its opponent in a very short period of time, and when it’s for a game that is 15 days from being played, that game is put under scrutiny by sports books.

As has been said a million times, Las Vegas didn’t build those skyscraper resorts because gamblers win.

  2. I can only imagine the amount of betting and wagering that would have already happened if Iowa had been paired with Nebraska instead of Mizzou.

  3. Wasn’t Iowa supposed to have a press release today or is Andrew Logue just making stuff up?

  4. My bet is something big might happen! :)
