Reisner a Mackey semifinalist

Bethpage, N.Y. (November 15, 2010) - The Nassau County Sports Commission has announced eight semi-finalists for the 2010 John Mackey Award. Listed alphabetically, they are George Bryan (JR, North Carolina State), Michael Egnew (JR, Missouri), Ladarius Green (JR, Louisiana), Daniel Hardy (SR, Idaho), Lance Kendricks (SR, Wisconsin), Allen Reisner (SR, Iowa), Luke Stocker (SR, Tennessee) and D.J. Williams (SR, Arkansas).
The eight semi-finalists were determined by confidential balloting of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee. The 2010 John Mackey Award finalists will be announced on Monday, November 22, 2010 at www.johnmackeyaward.org. The website also features all Mackey Award related information including the John Mackey Selection Committee, the selection process and award criteria, information on all past award recipients and a high resolution image of the award trophy available for download.
The Nassau County Sports Commission, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization sponsored by Briarcliffe College, is responsible for the administration of the John Mackey Award and the John Mackey Award Selection Committee. REISNER NAMED MACKEY SEMI-FINALIST
IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa senior tight end Allen Reisner has been named a semi-finalist for the John Mackey Award, given annually to the nation's top collegiate tight end. The announcement was made today by the Nassau County Sports Commission.
Reisner, a 6-3, 248-pound senior from Marion, IA joins seven other semi finalists for the prestigious award. Reisner has caught 35 passes for 370 yards this season. He caught a career-high six receptions for 66 yards against Northwestern last week. He has started every game this season and has 13 career starts to his credit.
The talented Hawkeye receiver has 62 career receptions for 744 yards and four touchdowns. He has earned honorable mention recognition from the college Football Performance Awards for his play against Iowa State and Northwestern this season.
The other semi-finalists are George Bryan (Junior, North Carolina State), Michael Egnew (Junior, Missouri), Ladarius Green (Junior, Louisiana), Daniel Hardy (Senior, Idaho), Lance Kendricks (Senior, Wisconsin), Luke Stocker (Senior, Tennessee) and D.J. Williams (Senior, Arkansas).
Former Iowa tight end Dallas Clark, now with the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL, won the Mackey Award following the 2002 season.
