Iowa DE Broderick Binns talks about Wisconsin’s size and how a defensive lineman can combat that size. It’s something Binns is actuely aware of. He admitted to being decked a few times when the Hawkeyes traveled to Madison last season. “My sophomore year going against Wisconsin, I was put on my back a couple times here and there.”
Iowa WR Colin Sandeman is one of Iowa’s key special teamers, as the punt returner. You don’t have to tell him how important special teams is in this game. The Badgers got a 97-yard kickoff return for a score right off the bat in their upset of Ohio State last week. “We’re just trying to make as few mistakes as we can. . . . We’ve made some strides [since Arizona], but there are definitely areas we can clean up.”
For Iowa DE Adrian Clayborn, Saturday shapes up to be a battle royale with Wisconsin left tackle Gabe Carimi. Believe it or not, the two don’t trash talk out there. There seems to be a level of mutual respest between the two possible first-round NFL draft picks. “There wasn’t much trash talking [in their meeting in Madison last year]. It was pretty much man-on-man. Two good players going against each other. No need to talk, just do it between the whistles.”
