* – - Letters won; ^ – - Redshirt year still available; # – - Indicates redshirt freshman
– No Jeff Tarpinian at middle linebacker. He suffered a neck stinger against Ball State. He tried a comeback against Penn State when Troy Johnson left the game with a concussion, but only lasted a few plays before he injured the shoulder/neck area again. Johnson is listed as the No. 1 with true freshman James Morris backing him up.
– No Daniel Murray at kicker. He dressed and went through warmups for the first time this season against Penn State, but didn’t play. He’s likely close to a return from a hip flexor strain.
No Tarp, yet Johnson playing? Hmmm What don’t we know? A stinger is not a medical term, so no real danger to him playing, but painful. However, concussion is best healed with more time. The guy with the concussion is back, but the guy with the stinger is out?
Hope this is not 200% and Tarpinian is back Saturday.
What Ferentz says Tuesday matters 10 times more than the Monday depth chart. I know Murray progressed and showed up last week and he’s not listed.
Also, on his TV show, Ferentz said he expected Tarp and Johnson back this week.
We’ll find out more tomorrow.
Mark, that is what had me confused is that he said he expected them back. That is good to know that he said Tuesday may be a different story, thanks.
