There have been two articles in The Gazette recently that should awaken all Iowans.
The first dealt with spending by wealthy Americans. According to the article, those Americans making over $207,000 per year account for 14 percent of spending while they make up only 5 percent of the population. Aren’t these the same people President Obama and his band of liberals want to tax even harder? Let’s get this straight: Improve the economy by taking more money from the people who spend most of the money in the economy! They really don’t get it, do they?
The other article was by Cal Thomas, dealing with our impending health care system by the same people who can’t even get basic economic facts straight. My wife and I lived in the United Kingdom for three years, observed the National Health Service in action and can attest to what he reported. Long lines, rationed care and decisions about what treatment you will get will be made by a bureaucrat on a case-by-case basis, depending on whether it would be “cost effective”.
Here is a headline from London’s Sunday Telegraph; “Axe falls on NHS Services; Hip operations, cataract surgery and IVF rationed; Cancer care, maternity, pediatric services at risk.”
If we follow their lead, that headline will be in the American press. Wake up to what the tribe in Washington is up to.
