The 2010 National Horseshoe Pitchers Association World Tournament has started. Competitors are in Day 2 of competition. The Cedar Rapids Ice Arena has been transformed to house 50 courts for play. Pitchers in various divisions begin playing at 7 a.m. There are five rotations per day with the final session of play at 8 p.m.
Players of all ages, including 93-year-old Don Boyer, of Illinois, and 5 1/2-year-old Kylie Foster, also of Illinois, and all skill level will compete in the tournament that began Monday and will conclude Saturday, Aug. 7.
Below is some footage of the courts and play from the final session of Day 2. Pitchers are playing in the men’s open division.
