Emergency crews investigate a car crash on F Avenue NW that sent a woman and a three-year-old child to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Police officials say that a three year old child and a young woman were injured in an afternoon car crash at 19th Street and F Avenue NW.

The crash occurred at around 2:45 p.m. The child was riding in a mini-van with its mother, and was sent to St. Luke’s Hospital. The child’s mother was unharmed in the accident.

Fire crews had to extricate the female driver of the red vehicle in the crash.

Police would speak to the severity of the injuries and say the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
