Republican extremists dangerous to country

thegazette.com Copyright 2011 SourceMedia Group. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.

The present Republican Party is a disgrace and a very real danger to our nation and the welfare of its citizens. Junkyard dogs show more integrity and decorum than some Republican members of Congress and most of their national leaders.

Their rhetoric comes very close to sedition, (suggesting violent acts against a duly elected government and its officials).

The Republican Party has been taken over by the extreme right and fundamentalist wing. To a fundamentalist, only white men are qualified to be president. If any Republican woman thinks this group would let her be president, think again. This group has been against social programs designed to lighten the load that the unfortunate live under.

To help the middle class and underprivileged is not communism or socialism but rather America at its best.

Republican extremists dangerous to country
  1. This is gonna be fun…

  2. The Gazette should be ashamed of itself for printing a letter that has no substance value . Only designed to inflame.

    • Why? It's certainly no worse than some of the wacko right-wing stuff that appears regularly amongst the letters. In fact, it's a good bit more level-headed than some of them.

  3. Why would this be printed??

  4. I don't share Jay's intensity but I will opine that the Republicans have moved further to the right. Moderate Republicans such as Jim Leach are being pushed out in pursuit of ideological purity.

At the same time, the Democrats are moving towards the center. Newly elected Democratic representatives elected in '06 and '08 tended to be moderates that could appeal to a broad range of constituents. We call many of them "blue dog democrats" today. The Democrats are compromising ideological purity to appeal to a broader base.

In time, the people will decide what they prefer.

  5. About as amusing as a rubber crutch.

  6. Sad, really, for a writer to demonize 50 million who vote. what an asinine letter

  7. Extremeists of any political persuasion can be dangerous to the country. Right now they seem to be concentrated in the far right.

  8. Interesting you would complain about the demonization of the Republican party only to demonize the Democrats.

  9. "ad hominem" means "against the person"

ad hominem attacks are attacks against a person (or a person's character, image, etc.)

Indeed, it is applicable in this situation.

  10. A whackadoodle on either side of the isle is still a whackadoodle.
The political spectrum is not a left/right straight line, it's a circle. Pick a starting point on the circle and call that center. If you move too far to the left or the right you meet up with your opposite and equally disingenuous counterpart at the back of the circle. Friends and neighbors that is home of the whackadoodle.

Jay does a great job of repeating the Liberal Talking Points, and acting like he is concerned about the direction of the Republican Pary, but I doubt he cares about anything but getting his government check each month!!

  12. ljw61 said: On May 2, 2010

    richgreer
You forgot to get a "Blame Bush" thought in your "Talking Points" didnt you listen at the last meeting??

  13. ljw61 said: On May 2, 2010

    Ann
Like your handlers told you, "keep repeating it and it will come true" Are you for Higher Taxes and more Government Control?

  14. Take action in November… vote for a political with the People in mind.
    -Equitable Income
    -Publicly Funded Health Care
    -Nationalized Pension
    -Publicly Funded Public Utility Base
    -Just Credit Reporting
    -Simplified Progressive Taxation

  15. I hope Jay feels better after letting off all that steam.

  16. Nonsense. Jay Levsen's letter has not attacked any specific individual only the ideals of a group of people. Which is very different from calling someone a liar or a thug for example. If ideas are off limits in political discourse, there is no discourse.

You might disagree with the accusations, but your disagreement doesn't make them ad hominem.

  17. … or maybe he works for a government subsidized industry, like an Oil Company, Agribusiness or Arms Manufacturing (& related)?

  18. …Low Income Home Energy Aid, Civil Service & Railroad Retirement, Unemployment? I'm just trying to get some clarification. Thanks.

  19. I see what you're saying; there is a simple misunderstanding here.

I'm saying that there are too many ad hominem attacks going on. I think that's part of why the letter was written – observing too many ad hominems.

I agree, this letter is not attacking, simply pointing out that the GOP has moved further and further to the right.

  20. Steve King once again.
    http://tinyurl.com/2eqd3hl

    • Owen if King is VOTED OUT,there will be no great lose.

    • King believes anyone who enters this country and violates our law, should be arrested.

King believes liberals are lax on immigrants and turn a blind eye to illegal's commiting crime.

Do you have any idea what the government of Mexico would do to you commiting crime in Mexico? Living illegally in Mexico?

  21. "We talk about the importance of the rule of law but we ignore it when it is convenient for us. And no, it doesn't matter which party is in charge; such behavior is not exceptional for either party."
    sums it up rather nicely…

  22. /snark

Keep your government out of my Medicare!!!

    /end snark

  23. On Merriam-Webster's web site (http://www.m-w.com ), the first definition listed for "ad hominem" is "appealing to feelings or prejudices rather than intellect". I think that's quite applicable.

  24. My first thought, too, was "must be a slow day".

On the other hand, while I think this is a bit dramatic, it is on the same level as a couple letters a while back calling the President a thug, a charlatan and a communist.

Too much ad hominem attacks in today's society. No one can seem to debate issues anymore – on either side.

    • This is a party that has embraced the T E A party, militia groups, rel igious extremists and other too far out there groups. They instituted a purity test for their party members and only embrace women and blacks in token roles that are usually not leadership ones. This translates into a party large ly led by old, white males and in order to move into the mainstream that has to change.

    • Apologies for the repeat p o s t s. Got hung up in thin air earlier.

  25. Dunbas*s quote is right.

  26. Some Democrats are considering ideological purity and are starting to reject the racist base of the Democratic Party.

  27. ljw61 uses some errors of faulty logic in response. Rather than comment on the specific statements in the letter he/she evades by the "liveral talking points" comment and then inferring that the writer is only interested in receiving some government handout. The evasive response is essentially Ad Hominem.

  29. Moving too far to either end of the political spectrum is dangerous and while people like that exist on both sides of the a i s l e the Republicans a p p e a r to have the majority of the market cornered right now.

    • That's weird you say that considering your lover (2joints) is about as extreme left as you can get!

    • The lies from the left regarding the immigration law in Arizona is off the charts. How can you people look in the mirror? You know full well the bill specifically makes it illegal to profile. It says so in the bill, and we have Obama LYING in his Ottumwa Iowa stop.

You people don't have the courage to debate the actual bill

  30. And a shoddy market it is…

  31. But, the Iowa GOP gubernatorial candidates are a perfect opportunity to invoke "The Three Stooges!"

    • more intolerance and name-calling. Have you liberals ever pulled anything other than the "all-democrat" lever at the polling booth?

I vote for Independents and Dems all the time. You people seem to hate any Republican

      • Nope.

I vote regularly for Independents (mostly in local elections) and Republicans–and always have. I started voting in 1960, by the way.

  32. It just occurred to me. Steven King may practice self-strangulation: some men do that in order to increase the intensity of sensation while they pleasure themselves.

He obviously does not get enough oxygen to his brain, so I'm just speculating why.

  33. I must register this protest. "Wingnuts" are very serviceable pieces of hardware. When did we decide to malign a useful little nut by attaching its name to the lunatic fringe?

    Free the wingnuts!

  34. Sometimes even visually–minus pies, of course…

  35. Cream pie to the face? Boy, we could use that kind of comic relief.

If Branstad wins re-election, then one of my favorite Trotskyisms comes to mind: "History always repeats itself: the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce."

    Break out the whoopie cushions!

    • not a big Branstad fan, but don't hate him like you. I might actually vote for Culver, whose only accomplishment is the anti-smoking bill he signed . Thank god

All of the union-card carrying Dems, and the grubby liberal college students have to find a new place to smoke. LOL!

      • OMIGOSH! It's an undead, zombie BrunoBeefCake! Run for your lives!

  36. You are correct about the right pushig for ideological purity. That's what the term RINO is all about and that term has been used for years.

  37. What do you say we stop using the term "ad hominem?" Especially in cases where it doesn't apply.

  38. During my college years Branstad earned the nickname, rightly or w r o n g l y, of "Brain-dead" amongst some of my college friends. No I did NOT attend the U of I for all the righties who will undoubtedly think that.

  39. There is no need to blame Bush. His record stands on its own and any level header person who examines that record will see him for what he truly was.

  43. Or of course, mindless hoards following MSM and MSNBC…

Judging by their attraction to me, our new trolls must love my nuts, too…

  51. FYI : 4 years at Kirkwood doesnt count…

  52. FYI it wasn't Kirkwood either. Nice try though.

  53. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know that respect my nuts.

  54. I expect nothing, therefore Im never disappointed.
the tea party movement will get the same treatment as AIM, and the Black Panthers. And you guys are so arrogant that you will invite it in, and welcome it with open arms…

  55. Steve King — forever etched in my mind by the following. A few years ago we were in Egypt, a predominately Muslim country, and turned-on the TV to CNN-Europe and there was King, babbling about Muslims "dancing in the streets" if Obama was elected. I admit, at that moment, I felft ashamed to be an American.

    • critmass38 I can relate to your feeling just being from Iowa. And people knowing that King represents Iowa.

  56. What's to expect from the party that's increasingly becoming infiltrated with members of the TEA Party, religious zealots, militias and old white men in leadership roles? They have their token black male and some white females in C o n g r e s s and gov ern or s hips but that's mostly it. Good story elsewhere in the p a p e r today about older Rep ub l icans who started voting when Eisenhower was in office and how the Dem o crats FDR brought along are dy ing off.

  58. WHAT challange? Im not, but you all apparently are cause you keep voting 'em in…

    • Funny you think Republicans are extremists, after watching CBS Evening NEws go on a sympathy tour this week with the Times Square bomber, making all kinds of excuses for him.

      pretty pathetic

  59. j86 said: On May 2, 2010

Equally as your obtuseness blinds you.

  60. And your reponse is to parrot wingnut canards.

  61. Your notice of my keysroke error is noted — no offense taken. As far a my "Ad Hominem" statement, I stand by it. In regard to you calling me "son", perhaps you resisted using the word "boy"as an even more denigrating term (Ad Hominem). But if you are over age 90 perhaps the term "son" could be ligitimate. By the way, note your mispelling in the 2nd-to-last sentence.

  62. And the bad hair……

  63. Do you share perspicacity with a former candidate for Vice President?

  64. Yeah, the distinguished Congressman was spouting off on the radio the other day, making his usual inaccurate and incendiary comments. That the people in western Iowa keep electing him says nothing good about that whole district.

  65. 'The evasive response is essentially
    consistantly

    From the right

  66. That gives me even more hope! You really DO have vision to see through mountains!

  67. No. And I dont like tea partys either…

  68. Admin censoring my responses.

  69. I'd like to amend that to "freedumb nuts"

  70. What is so dangerous about the right wing factions in this country? Well, number one threat is that we all have guns and plenty of ammo granted to us by the 2nd Amendment of the Bill of Rights! While you hippy peace-loving folks sit back in your easy chairs and watch CNN, real people are working second jobs or loading their own ammunition. Face it. A vast majority of the people in this country are becoming disgruntled. If you are happy paying an-ever-increasing-amount of taxes, then raise your hand! Are you happy that Medicare and Social Security has been exposed for what they are – accounts to be dipped into for other endeavors? Both these systems will be no more by 2020. Are you happy that the Congress has their own retirement and benefit plans? Do you love foreign wars that exploit other nations to benefit the rich? What about the ever-increasing profits of companies like BP – while they spill their oil all over our southern coast? I guess we can all sit back and watch China take over as we eat potato chips and get fat! WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO AMERICA?!? Land of the free? Home of the brave? OR Land of the enslaved and home of the lazy!

    • hdeen said: On May 3, 2010

Speak for yourself on the laziness issue. MOST of the lazy people I know are on the right wing side of the political spectrum. The same people who can attend a Tea Party rally in the middle of a WORK day.

  71. LOL, I bet

  72. The U of I is home to a disproportionate number of leftover radical hippies that now run things like 2joints aka twoCats.

    • So you keep saying, Bluto.

I don't suppose you could back up this statement with some genuine facts, for a change, could you?

I mean, just who are these "leftover radical 60s hippies?"

How about showing us how they run anybody or anything?

Or is this just another gas attack for ya?

    • Jimmy.

Lived in I.C. for two years, and done business down there for 20. There is an angry, left-wing contingent of females that cling to the granola lifestyle of Iowa City. You can cut their anger toward men and conservatives with a knife.

  74. Not convinced that this letter should have been selected.

  75. …and then there are 'Us'. I don't know "your" history, but "We" triumphed in 1917 Russia, 1946 China, 1959 Cuba, 1960 Congo, 1998 Venezuela, 2005 Bolivia, 2006 Nepal, etc etc etc… are you only afraid of "Us" or just the Democrats? :P

  76. Not convinced your opinion on the subject matters.

'The evasive response is essentially Ad Hominem. '

Faulty logic 38. Perhaps they are cro-magnon but certainly not Ad Hominen. Get your Latin up to date son.

  82. Fox News, asI have pointed out numerous times, was judged as one of the fairest "news" roundup shows, with Brit Hume's show leading the way, per a UCLA study. Your own biases disallow you from noticing it, which is telling.

You can show me no proof that the Tea Party was manufactured by Fox News.

    None.

    • Glenn Beck.

    • Hawk, when you make claims about Fox being judged, you should, to be fair, identify the judges.

        Among the highlights:

"If viewers spent an equal amount of time watching Fox's 'Special Report' as ABC's 'World News' and NBC's 'Nightly News,' then they would receive a nearly perfectly balanced version of the news," said Milyo, an associate professor of economics and public affairs at the University of Missouri at Columbia.

Five news outlets — "NewsHour With Jim Lehrer," ABC's "Good Morning America," CNN's "NewsNight With Aaron Brown," Fox News' "Special Report With Brit Hume" and the Drudge Report — were in a statistical dead heat in the race for the most centrist news outlet.

      • We will see if it gets through the filters. I have referenced a UCLA study numerous times here, which states that Fox News is no more biased in a number of their programs then other news organizations.

The fact that the only people here who seem to disagree with that are of the left perusasion should give them pause as to what their real motivations for calling out Fox.

  83. I never told you to expect anything. However, prepare to be surpised if you think November will be anything but an unmitigated disaster for progressives on congress.

Are you actually equating a populist political movement with terrorist groups?

    And who are "you guys?"

  84. Really,Owen? Pointing out that over a half century of handouts HAS created dependancy on governnment is a "wingnut" canard?

Moonbats such as yourself will cut off your own noses to spite your face.

  85. Tea Party folks are for less taxation, less gov't, and a return to our core values, and wants this country to adhere to its' Constitution–not tear it down like this current administration desires to do. Tea Party folks are basically Indepedents/Libertarians

  86. Show where i have "championed" this govt.
It is YOU that have done that.
But as you are completely lacking in any insight whatsoever, your denial is expected shortly.

  87. yeah, it is almost frightening…(almost?) And if they get the one in the they are behind 100%, the United States will cease to exist. I am certain.

  88. There sure are a bunch of leftist wackos that write for this Gazette. If I didn't know better, I would think this is a San Francisco newspaper. Oh yeah, we have such a real danger with Republicans. Not radical Islam, not illegal immigrants that are invading this country by the tens of thousands everyday, no the real threat are Republicans. 90. And then you lost in 1989 Eastern Europe, 1991 in Russia (your mecca), Nicaragua, etc. The only way your "triumphed" was by m.a.s.s murdering people to force your ideology on others. You have nothing to be proud of. Why don't you move to North Korea where you can live in your worker's paradise.

    • you should learn to appreciate the ironic.
and BTW, I'm glad no one died during the American Revolution… :P

  91. There are a number of problems. The first is the dependence on fear in the right wing. Examples of this have been with us for decades, the red scare of the '50s made famous by McCarthyism. The Southern Strategy pursued by the GOP in order to benefit from the anger of southern whites over desegration. Remember the Willie Horton ad in the '80s? The attempts by the GOP to benefit by standing against equality for gays and lesbians.

    • So how is giving gay victum's of crimes superior punishment (a violation of section I 14th amendmnet) equality?

      • croega, you show zero understanding of the law. It is perfectly acceptable to consider motive in determining the severity of charge a defendant will face. We've gone down this road before.

Are you opposed to "hate crime" statutes because they include gays? You're okay with enhanced punishment if a defendant is accused of beating a black man for being black, but you want no enhancement of punishment if the victim was beaten for being gay?

That is the outcome that you are proposing, just because you refuse to accept gays. Again, shameful.

      • No need to repeat what 2point said.

  92. LOL 2point, now Ol' Jimmy thinks you and I are one and the same. You might want to scratch and belch some more to prove the point that we're not. LOL!!!

    • Okay, I'll count my n uts.

      One, two…

    • There is no doubt that you guys are either one in the same or your gay lover sitting next to you replying to your posts. You 2joints/2rats and the other 98% of the leftists that blog on this site suck.

    • Great week for the media and the White House!

Obama references the gay slur "Tea Baggers" in a speech

The White House takes 11 days to address oil spill in Gulf

The White House has yet to address the huge crisis in Nashville

The White House lies about the Immigration Bill in AZ

The media has no problem with any of it

  93. After perusing your posts, I can make a pretty valid determination:

    Your posts reflect that:

You hate the rich ( go ahead, admit it)…
    You hate "Faux" News…
    You hate Rush Limbaugh…
You were for the health care bill…
You were against the Iraq War…
    You are anti-gun…
You REALLY hate Bush ("he should be tried and hung for treason")

    Among other things.

So, while you may not champion it, I am quite confident in saying that what you are "about" certainly puts you more in line with this administration in your beliefs….

Your own posts reveal enough insight….THIS government means this admin, for the purposes of this post…

    • Blaz0–

didn't you know how 'tolerant' Ann could be?

      • I have never claimed to have tolerance, quite the opposite, in fact.
I have no tolerance for the ignorant bas sackward fools who would turn this country into their own personal police state..

        • Your reply reeks with contradiction. You want to go to a police-state, try commiting a crime in Mexico without your Visa, Birth Cert., Driver's license, Passport, etc.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall, watching you bawl like a baby as they take you away to some roach-infested jail cell!

LOL that would be a dream

        • Your reply reeks with contradiction. On ne hand, you're intolerant. On the other, you act like you live in San Francisco and force your kids to attend the gay/nude bicylcle parades, with everyone's junk hanging out.

        • Police State? LOL Did you know it has ONLY been the Democrats have taken extreme 'police state" measures.

Woodrow Wilson, Democrat, rounded up thousands of citizens who spoke against government policy

Franklin Roosevelt, Democrat, rounded up citizens of Japanese decent and put them in camps.

What have Republicans done that equals what Roosevelt and Wilson did?

Obama's guys are infiltrating opposition websites and organization presently…. and you think the Right practices Police State tactics ? ?… LOL

  94. You don't like more government control and higher taxes, but this is precisely what this government you champion is giving you.

    Wow.

  95. Hmmm, No I am not anti-gun. And I dont "hate the rich". Just the arrogant, And if you would spend more time studying yourself, than others you might get some where in this life.

    • The lies from the left regarding the immigration law in Arizona is off the charts. How can you people look in the mirror? You know full well the bill specifically makes it illegal to profile. It says so in the bill, and we have Obama LYING in his Ottumwa Iowa stop.

    • Arrogant? Like Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, and other well-heeled Dems?

  96. I'm exceptional.

    …three, four…

  97. Now go back and read the whole book.

There will be a quiz on Friday covering the material.

The Comics Illustrated version doesn't contain all the information.

  98. I've thought for some time that the terms "lout" and "oaf" were reasonable descriptors for their ilk. All misplaced instinct and no intellect.

Silace, you are the expert on THAT.

  101. Faux News is, for lack of a better term, among the worst in news but the best in entertainment. All fluff and no real substance.

  102. …five, six…

From the right wing comments here, we can see that they have NO toleration from persons who differ from their belief system. They can not logically debate Obama's positions. Their strategy name call and demonize the opposition. This is the current party line of the Republican Party and that is WHY they lost the 2008 General Election.

The strategy for 2010 (and 2012) will be more of the same. 1) Demonize Obama. 2) Tie in the connection between Democratic candidates and Obama and thus demonize them as well.

  108. Ka Ching!
    LOL.

  109. Wandering around the site aimles sly replying again I see Jerky.

    Enjoy.

  110. There's no doubt you suffer from serious delusions of grandeur if you think 2point and I can pos sibly be one and the same considering he is obviously male and I am obviously female.

Carry on though. I need to go adjust my bra and stock up on feminine hygiene products.

More than done feeding this troll.

  111. The really scary thing to me is the number of good folks who seem to have forgotten what a really wretched governor Mr. Branstad was–and the number of people too young to remember his endless terms in the governor's mansion.

  112. Have you ever read the "Gringrich GOPAC Memo" ? ( Just google same. )

  113. I will let the previous two posts, one by HerkyJerky and the other by Jimmy_Stuka, speak for themselves: rank prejudice directed at people who don't share their politics, and the expressed wish to "eradicate liberalism."

Exactly how do you "eradicate" a set of political values? Does either post indicate that its writer can share the country with other people? Or, do those posts reveal the right for what it is?

    • well to answer your question you can't eradicate views idea's or values. But the govt. can surpress them. I respect you 2point but your aiming at the wrong people. We have two different views and thats fine until the govt. steps in takes one side or the other.

    • You can start by exiting…

  114. The communists are taking over.

  115. Be careful, John. Jeremy MAY be a prosecuting attorney.

Shall I tell you which county to avoid, and which Second District candidate he MAY be working for?

There MAY be reasons he values his anonymity so highly.

    • Hey! I didn't mention anything beyond screen names, bozo.

BTW, I didn't mention any screen names, bubba,

      • A prosecuting attorney, an officer of the court, who's also a stoner.

THAT is too funny for words!

BTW, what would YOU know about "conscience?"

    • Hey! I didn't mention anything beyond screen names, bozo.

  116. jerky, get your hand out of your pants!

  117. Thanks, kitty, that explains where the troll scat came from that I had to clean up in another thread…

  118. I guess there are 30-40 million americans who listen to Rush.

oooh, if we could all be as brilliant as liberals

    • "are 30-40 million americans who listen to Rush
And now we know why the country is as f____d as it is.

      • Liberals's sense of empowerment is succeeding in getting as many people (democrats; minorities) on welfare as possible. The more abortians, the better. The higher taxes, the better. The demonizing of conservatives, to gain voters—the better. Who is f'd up now?

  119. Hate Faux?

How low-budget, unsophisticated are the people who watch "The Daily Show"? Probably the most mindless Obamites in the country

  120. I add "extremist-radical" to lout and oaf. I really don't think they're worth being taken seriously.

  121. YOU get to clean up after jerky this time, since you fed him!

  122. Fed him, yes. Let him loose, NO.

    HA! LOL

  123. Here's a link to Newt Gingrich's GOPAC memo about the power of languager to control. The GOP must think we are REALLY stupid.
    http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article4…

    • Poor little Stuka. My forces have overrun Pitomnik, he's low on fuel with nowhere to land, and the pinging of rifle rounds on his underside means my boys are just waiting for him.

  124. When trying to convince gull ible people I can see how using these words might sway people to see their point but most intelligent people would see their use for what it truly is

  125. Gosh!

    D'ya THINK?

  126. Only they and their acolytes and sycophants take themselves seriously, so far as I can tell. They certainly harbor some curious ideas.

  127. Gingrich is a discountenanced hack, a philanderer, and a proven plagiarist as an academician. In the final analysis his career as Speaker was a failure and a disgrace. Nonetheless he maintains a ravenous hunger for power, and is trying for a comeback. For some reason, I got on his calling list and received half-a-dozen calls asking for my support–until I finally popped my corset stays and told the simpering bumpkin on the other end of the phone line what my real opinion of the failed Dr. Gingrich is.

It is amusing to see his little followers continuing to use this old sack of tricks.

  128. Its not just the GOP

LOL, I'm just joking around don't get mad.

  129. As you pointed out, Owen, I far prefer Jeff Beck. At least MY Beck has talent, and is an engaging joy to listen to.

  130. Unfortunately a lot of people arn't familiar ( it's not necessarily a matter of intelligence ) with how words with certain connotations can be used for subtle persuasion and propaganda.

  131. You are r i g h t. That's why I referenced gullible people. They're more likely to be swayed by propaganda and using words in certain ways.

  132. Corset stays? Do you have something to tell us John? Hehehehehe!!!!

  133. Of course it's not–they just have the preponderance of lummoxes on their side.

  134. LOL! Figured SOMEBODY would be amused. I think it's a quotation from an old movie, but I can't remember which one…

  135. What can I say? I'm easily amused these days. LOL!!!

  141. I have my doubts Gingrich will ever be a serious contender for president. He's (in my opinion) simply a rather mean-spriited person, and he's not good at hiding it.

  142. I think he makes a deliberate attempt to not hide it, IMO. He;s also a blatant hypocrite since he went after Clinton for having s e x with an intern all the while stepping out on his own wife.

  143. Sounds like someone's lost their grip, and it sure ain't me Sweetheart.

    Done feeding this troll.

  144. Any time. He, like the others, sometimes crawl out of nowhere.

  145. Agreed on all counts. Even without his hypocritical politics, he's a despicable human being. Lots of the neo-cons just LOVE him. That speaks volumes as well.

    • Every word in this thread points to Newt Gingrich's failure as a human being, academic, and political leader.

His continuing influence in neo-conservative circles and the GOP speaks volumes about those folks, and their character, as well. It does NOT bode well for our Republic, however.

  146. Get right on that, will ya, Bluto? You and Newt will make a fine team.

  147. Maybe he does make a deliberate attempt not to hide his mean-spiritedness — I donno. Mean-spirited people seem to be attracted to other mean-spirited people and maybe he thinks there's enough of his kind. But my feeling is the majority of Americans don't like mean-spiritedness in their leaders.

  148. I think you're r i g h t critmas s. I know it turns me off when the leaders elected by the people to lead this country display such mean spiritednes s.

  149. I agree completely. That's another one of the reasons the TEA Party movement is doomed.

  150. The relevance of this off-the-wall comment would be…?

Have you read the Arizona law to which you refer?

Would you care to cite the part of it you refer to here?

  151. Why do you wander around the site making irrelevant comments–and then repeating them?

  152. You seem to be stuck in dumb gear…

  153. http://www.azleg.gov/legtext/49leg/2r/bills/hb2162c.htm

Above is the link to the bill. Below is prevailing verbage throughtout the bill:

    D. A law enforcement official or agency of this state or a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state may not consider race, color or national origin in the enforcement of this section except to the extent permitted by the United States or Arizona constitution.

  154. The dumbas#es are the ones who can't read, or interpret this bill

  155. It may be drivel to you–just your way of dismissing something that I'm right about, and for you to avoid talking about, because you're on the wrong side

  156. <DIV>roddy Now you see what the Republicans did with Health Care.</DIV> <DIV>Law states so many things, don't you agree? And it is broken</DIV> <DIV>just as the Arizona law will be. Arpaio is being investigated at</DIV> <DIV>this time, just for this very thing. So don't say it can't take</DIV> <DIV>place. Are you that niave. GET REAL.

<DIV style=\”FONT-FAMILY: times new roman, new york, times, serif; FONT-SIZE: 12pt\”>

  157. Ol' Roddy's just copying and pasting comments again. Must be bored.

  158. I see you can't handle the facts, and Obama and Hillary are void too–lying through their teeth last week.

If you have an accent, you will be profiled and arrested without cause in Arizona, according to Obama and Hillary–which is a flat out lie.

You people need to grow a pair and quit supporting the leftist lies by the media

    • Just a FYI.

I'm very familiar with the bill. The section you cite is not the problematic one. It's this:

""A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, WITHOUT A WARRANT, MAY ARREST A PERSON IF THE OFFICER HAS PROBABLE CAUSE TO BELIEVE THAT THE PERSON HAS COMMITTED ANY PUBLIC OFFENSE THAT MAKES THE PERSON REMOVABLE FROM THE UNITED STATES.""

This flies in the face of the probable cause clause of the Fourth Amendment,, and it's on that basis that the court challenges will occur. A number have already been drafted, and will be filed the day the law goes into effect.

Meanwhile, hoteliers and developers in Arizona are already feeling the results of several groups that are boycotting all business with the state.

I still fail to see the relevance of this discussion here, or in the other places you have copied and pasted your remarks.

  159. I think "ol Roddy lost his numb nuts too…..LOL!!!

  160. It's what trolls do best–besides evading the subject at hand…….DONTCHA KNOW? <wink wink>

    • TowCat Troll has no backbone to discuss the AZ immigration bill—-because her libby friends are out lying about it

  161. know full well the bill specifically makes it illegal to profile

    ROFLMAO!!!!

    • Ann still uses acronyms (ROFLMAO) from AOL Chat Rooms circa 1997.

None of these agitators have bothered to actually READ the bill that was passed. Their absurd charges are so blatantly false that it exposes how little intellectual integrity these people on the left have. They scream “racism” on just about every issue.

What is driving many of these illegals to leave Arizona isn’t the law just passed, but the phony fear campaign the left is using to gin up anger among their base.

If we can only find a way to replicate the left’s phony fear campaign in other states, we might solve the immigration problem once and for all!

  162. LOL…

There you go Roddy. Hey Ann, explain how this country will be turned into a "police state". Then explain how you would enforce laws re: illegal immigration.

  163. I seem to recall having heard that drivel before…

    • I've been waiting two days for a reply, pipsqueak.

That means you're still blowing smoke, doesn't it?

Betcha you're not man enough to fess up, though…

  164. Wipe the c r@p from your eyes and take a good look around.
"If you dont break the law you have nothing to fear" It is happening at analarming rate. And you people WELCOME it. You think gov't will make the world safe, so you can be nice and cozy snug. As far as illegals, the very 1st step is to go after the EMPLOYERS who hire them.

  165. "The present Republican Party is a disgrace …" Oh, really? Biden tosses the f-word in front of an open mike, and what happens? The Dems sell t-shirts to raise money! A Republican lawmaker shouts "You lie" during BO's healthcare fiasco and what happens? He's censured on the floor! A Democratic lawmaker expresses concern about overloading an island in fear it will capsize… Who's a disgrace?

  166. ZZZZ.
    W r o n g
    Thanx 4 playin' tho.

  167. Hispanics are historically very conservative. Devout Catholic; pro-family; pro-marraige.

The key for the liberals is to dupe as many illegal aliens, or 1st generation citizens here that can't fully understand English.

If Hispanics only knew how evil and dangerous liberalism has been, they'd run for the hills

  168. Yeah, that is why they are leaving mexico and South America in droves, because it is a mecca for liberalism…

  169. No contradiction.
"i am mad as h3ll, and i aint gonna take it no more"
Ive seen ENOUGH of what you all are doing to this world.

    • Move to San Francisco. You can sit there with your grandchildren and watch obscene gay nudity on bicycles in broad daylite, in organized parades

  170. They're here unintentionally bankrupting California and Arizona becasuse of liberals' will to place as many on social assistance as possible, keeping them prisoners the rest of their lives.

At least in Mexico, they had some freedom.

Of course, the bleeding heart liberal scoffs at the fact that CA and AZ have bankrupt school systems, healthcare systems, because of ilegal aliens who have flodded the system. They actually believe it's some sinister Republican conspiracy.

  171. You and your cronies keep referring to "commies" at the University of Iowa. Yesterday the catch phrase was "burned out leftover radical 60's hippies."

Neither you nor your loudmouth buddies, however, has provided a single word to back uo your foolish claims.

Moreover, it's generally accepted that the 60s ended at midnight on Dec. 31, 1969. Let's disregard the fact that the "hippie movement" had been over for several years by then. And let's say that somebody whom you characterize as a "commie" or "hippie" was 30 years old at the time.

That person is now 70, and retired.

So here's your assignment, and you can pass it along to Bluto:

Please, if you would be so kind, identify 10 "commies" at the University of Iowa.

Please identify, if you would, 10 "burned out leftover radical 60's hippies" in charge of ANYTHING in Johnson County.

I'd note that the last time the CPUSA fielded a presidential slate, Gus Hall and Angela Davis were the top candidates. Ol' Gus died a decade ago, and he was a joke for the last 40 years of his life.

Disclaimer: I have no connection with Johnson County, nor do I have any ties whatsoever to the University of Iowa, and I certainly do not advocate the policies either of hippies or of the CPUSA!

    Yeah. it's drivel.

  172. The boycotts are from the liberal lies perpetrated in the media.

They create hysteria, blame Republicans to garner support from the Hispanic community. Truly awful people–the DNC

  173. Nothing if he's an attorney.

  174. Thanks for the laugh, Kitty!

Had a rough morning with my clients. One dressed, then decided he wanted to wear shorts, was mad at me because I would NOT let him take a soda for lunch, then used mouthwash and spit into the kitchen sink, which upset one of his roommates, etc.

However, my MRDD guys have integrity and good intentions that I have never inferred from any of our trolls…

  175. Any time. Glad you had fun even if the morning was rough.

  176. Ann, 8-month pregnant mothers jump to fence to have instant amnesty and free healthcare in the US. Then there is housing assistance, welfare, food stamps, and more free healthcare for the illegal aliens

The very first step is throwing away the social services programs created by liberals–who give illegals incentive to travel here illegally

  177. It's very sad, particularly when there are some fine leaders in the Republican Party–and I mean genuine, conservative, old-style Republicans–who are being spurned by the likes of Newt, DeLay, Cheney, and their like.

It would be wonderful to be able to debate real political issues on real political grounds, rather than having to contend with rhetorical obfuscation and outright lies from people who claim the mantle of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Eisenhower. What a flock of small-minded pantywaists they are!

  178. (and typical)

  179. Liberal hysteria, directly from Hillary and Obama's speeches last weekend–stoking the fire.

Why? They're both either incorrect, misinformed, or flat out lying about the AZ immigration law

  180. DeLay would know about gerrymandering considering what he tried to do with Texas.

  181. Exactly! I was referring to that fiasco where the Texas legislative Democrats were incommunicado to deny DeLay's lackeys the quorum they needed to push (putsch?) through the partisan redistricting. Remember how DeLay wanted the Dems arrested and brought by force back to Austin?

Talk about an abuse of power…

  182. There's an answer. Let's see if they print it…

  183. Well, isn't that just hilarious. that was my sixth presidential election, and I voted for John Anderson too.

  184. Yes, it was a complete farce. I was cheering the dems on when they fled to Okiahoma hoping they would be able to wait the rat out.

  185. You have no rebuttal for the lies coming out regarding a much-needed immigration law. There are numeroud lies stoking the fire–and you can't defend them

  186. Now, THERE'S a genuinely hilarious post!

I'm just envisioning ol' Bluto and his acolytes chortling and rubbing their hands together and slavering over lascivious thoughts!

    • John, you are a treasure!

See why I think Jeremy is a chickenhawk?

      • Sure! And that would explain a lot…

        • Seriously, I would be embarrassed if some posters followed me around, posting how great I was, aping my language and arguments at every opportunity.

          Wow.

  187. I guess my questions devolve on this:

"Fox News is no more biased in a number of their programs then other news organizations.'

    1. What number constitutes "a number of their programs?" Their sports scores and stock market quotations, for example, are accurate. So are SOME of their "news" reports. None of their "analysis" programs, a large part of their broadcasting, are unbiased, by definition.

    2. To what other news organizations was Fox compared? MSNBC? PBS? CNN? ABC, CBS, and NBC? Answers would vary for each of these, I would suspect.

    3. By whom was the study funded–or for what purpose was it conducted?

I'm not questioning your source, but just pointing out that studies can lie, and sometimes better than individual people. Given the right subjects to interview, I could write a study that proves the earth is flat and the moon constructed of Limburger.

  188. Okay, RustyPipe, go to Rich Greer's letter, where I've posted a link about the problems with the AZ law. I also have a post hung up in admin.

    • Have you heard of 'cause and effect' ' opposed to "essential causality" (one event seen in two ways) ?

Why break up the AZ law into more than one part? The liberals are hysterical over the so-called semantics of bill, ignoring the content, and totally ignoring the reason it was signed and passed

The American Southwest has a CRISIS going on. Drug smuggling, murders, by unducumented illegal aliens; draining our our social services.

what part of the concept can't you understand?

      • "what part of the concept can't you understand?"

        Targeting Hispanics.

        • Thanks for proving my point. You didn't read the bill. The bill conforms to the Federal bill. The AZ bills states in several areas—no profiling based on race and national origin.

You and your liberal loons in the media creating fear and spreading lies, which is the #1 source of angst among Hispanics. You people need to shut the f- up and quit lying through your teeth

          • You can't have it both ways. You denounce Hispanics for rightly protesting the bill, then claim Hispanics aren't targeted.

Sheesh, Rusty, you need to be repainted. Please go back to being SuperFlySnuka or BrunoBeefCake.

          • I don't denounce them They're protesting because they're led on by a lying liberal media creating hysteria.

Why don't you copy and paste any part of the bill and tell me where it's written that there will be "racial profiling"

          • Listen carefully, RustyPipe. No one here has claimed the bill will mandate profiling.

However, if an officer pulls over a Hispanic, he can use race as "reasonable cause" that the person may be undocumented. No matter how you slice it, that's profiling.

          • You can't have it both ways. You denounce Hispanics for rightly protesting the bill, then claim Hispanics aren't targeted.

Sheesh, Rusty, you need to be repainted. Please go back to being SuperFlySnuka or BrunoBeefCake.

        • I get the feeling RustyPipe is the type to use the derogatory word against Hispanics that ranks r i g h t up there with the N word for African Americans. I'm sure you know the term I'm talking about.

  192. Politically correct boycotts.

Origin of boycotts? Liberal media hysteria
Origin of European hate for Bush? Liberal media hysteria

Origin of most lies and perceptions ? Liberal lies from liberal media

  193. Just playing by the rules I learned from you, Ron_Jeremy_Cupcake.

  194. Ol' Roddy has no rebuttal when the truth slaps him in the face so he's resorting now to mindles s copy and paste rants.

    Niice.

  195. You will believe what you choose to believe, whether it has any basis in fact or not.

    Believe it and be happy.

The origin of some of the Arizona boycotts is from conservative citizens of Arizona, by the way…

  196. I have this question, John, about Karl Rove. How do you build a "permanent Republican majority" if, as Arthur Schlesinger contended, American politics oscillates from left to right?

Tom DeLay provided one answer: shameless partisan gerrymandering. People like Rove and DeLay are a far greater threat to our freedom than Osama Bin Laden ever was…

  197. My very first vote was in 1980, and I voted for independent Anderson(sp?) over Reagan and Carter

  198. Do you know how to do anything other than cut and paste your own material–over, and over, and over again?

  200. I agree about a thousand percent about how dangerous they are. They very nearly brought it off, too, and came dangerously close to establishing what I can only describe (using the real meaning of the term) as a Fascist state.

Those people, it seems to me, are arrogant enough to believe in themselves as genuine power brokers. Most of them go back to the College Republican movement back in the late 60s, with suck luminaries as Jack Abramoff and Grover Norquist. They very much followed the Saul Alinsky model, and believed in it passionately. There goal was nothing less than a Republican–or, more correctly, neo-conservative–hegemony that could attract the majority of the American people by promising bread and circuses, while actually furthering their own political cause.

they were wrong, of course, and Schlesinger was correct. The American people are, finally, too sensible to buy snake oil for very long. But when they managed to elect Reagan, and then to sanctify him, they really believed they could do it. The election of Dubya simply proved it for them.

That's why they are so astounded–and so bitterly angry–about their complete repudiation in 2008. That's why the TEA party, that's why the bellowing threats about the 2010 election, that's why their intractible belief in their failed cause.

They may indeed find minor victories in the future, but the people have moved on, and their days of power are numbered.

There are several excellent books on this topic, and they're easy enough to find.

Rove and Cheney are particularly problems, because they're the puppeteers behind the scenes for a lot of this. DeLay, of course is behind the TEA party folks.

Just my own opinion, as always…

  201. Well, isn't that just hilarious. that was my sixth presidential election, and I voted for John Anderson too.

  202. Yes. Without researching, I believe he garnered enough votes to receive federal funds for his campaign? Not sure if it was 8% ??

  203. I was cheering for them too. DeLay even put out warrants for their arrest as soon as they got back to Texas.

The funniest thing was watching DeLay caper and cavort around, pitching a duck fit, and unable to get his crybaby way.

Meanwhile, his handlers in Washington were pretty honked off too.

    • Thanks for starting this trip down memory lane, John. However, it was gratifying to watch DeLay being shown the door, and Jack Abramoff and Randy Cunningham doing the "perp walk."

      • Yeah, that DID look good…

      • One VERY important thing to remember:

That rattlesnake Tom DeLay is still a very big player.

It's his outfit that is organizing and funding the Tea Party movement–including paying Sadie's $100K speaking fees.

He's a major reason there are so many rabid partiers–though many of them don't even know that li'l tidbit.

  204. Now, THERE'S a genuinely hilarious post!

I'm just envisioning ol' Bluto and his acolytes chortling and rubbing their hands together and slavering over lascivious thoughts!

  205. Now, THERE'S a genuinely hilarious post!

I'm just envisioning ol' Bluto and his acolytes chortling and rubbing their hands together and slavering over lascivious thoughts!

  206. No, by normally refusing to rebut the mindles s posts of the actual trolls on these boards I show more backbone than you and others on here do by copying and pasting the nonsensical posts that you do.

    Done feeding this troll…….

    • The liberal leaders are lying about the Arizona bill–to the public. Most recently, Obama lied to the low-rung folks in Ottumwa, Iowa. apparently Obama found a not-so-smart audience

    • You add nothing but hate for conservatives. Let me see. You work in a gov't job, subsidized by conservative taxpayers, and as gratitude throw them under the bus at every opportunity.

Why don't you move to Europe

      • You add nothing but contempt for liberals. Let's see, you work in a govt job, subsidized by liberal taxpayers and as gratitude throw them under the bus at every opportunity.

Yup, you really need to move to North Korea. Or Iran. Sc**w Europe with your mindset.

        Done feeding this troll.

    • TwoSmack,

why not admit the liberal media and the White House are LYING about the AZ immigration bill, and inflaming the situation?

Can't you be truthful for once, or hateful? Wtf is your problem

  207. As usual, WTF are you talking about?

Oh wait…you're another troll who's not playing with a full deck, D#CK.

  208. Did you read my link?

  209. It appears that history may be repeting itself, right wingers are a threat to America? In the 1930's some said that Jews/Christians were a threat to Germany as well. Were they right?

    • Oh my goodness, croega. Are you seriously arguing that American conservatives are being persecuted the way German Jews were? You are trivializing the Holocaust, which is shameful. And, you need to read some of the comments "conservative" posters make about "liberals" and gays before you accuse folks like me of enacting something like Nazi Germany in this country.

      • 2point, I never said that you behaved in this manner. Recently I did read a letter to the editor of another paper whereI conservative Christians were accussed of wanting to overthrow the government, the Constitution and set up a dictatorship. All because I believe in the constitution and this country. Some people do see Christian conservatives as a threat, don't know why?

        • croega, I will make two suggestions to you if you can't understand why some of us see "christian conservatives" as a threat.

First, read around on this board and draw your own conclusion about who presents more of a "threat" to whom. Second, put yourself in the shoes of a gay or lesbian and do your best to have empathy for them, especially when you hear people denouncing them.

    • I think you're totall right that conservatives are considered the biggest threat to our socialist government. Just ask Bill Clinton or even Obama. They think the Tea Party is so much of a bigger threat than Islamic fundamentalism or illegal aliens invading this country. It just goes to show the agenda of the left. Right 2joints?

      • You really don't get it, do you? The wingnuts are a threat because they hate our system of government, and have sought systematically to destroy it for at least 30 years. Your Blessed Saint Ronald was at least up-front about his goals. Remember "Government IS the problem?" He meant exactly that, and set out to get rid of the problem.

      • Not surprising, American patriots were considered threats to the British government.

  210. Just to be polite,, why don't YOU go to Arizona–or LA–and see first-hand why these folks risk so much to get here. Better yet, go to Mexico and take a Poverty Tour.

Then come back and give us a little slide show.

    • Been all over the West coast and Southwest, and lived in Colorado who has a sh#tload of illegal aliens.

Try traveling to Mexico without a driver's license, Passport, Visa, and commit a petty crime—and see how 'hospitable' Mexican authorietites are with your 'freedom'

Will they offer you welfare, amnesty, free healthcare for jumping their fences??

  211. Why all this fuss and worry about Republicans. Throughout our history it has ONLY been the Democrats have taken extreme measures.

Woodrow Wilson, Democrat, rounded up thousands of citizens who spoke against government policy

Franklin Roosevelt, Democrat, rounded up citizens of Japanese decent and put them in camps.

What have Republicans done that equals what Roosevelt and Wilson did?

  212. Republicans ended slavery. Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act. Republican Ronald Reagan established Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a Federal Holiday…heck, even Martin Luther King, Jr. himself was a registered Republican….

  213. LOL!!!

  214. Good infomation here, thanks.

  215. When you turn down your VA benefits, I might consider listening to your ideas about the Federal government taking care of it.

  216. Were I to go back to grad school I too would likely go to the U of I due to its proximity and the fact that it has the graduate programs I would pursue. During my undergrad years I chose a much smaller private school since I came from a small school and didn't like the idea of just being a number.

  217. Seems like the GOP is stealing the punchline from an old joke about the Democrats forming a circular firing squad…

  218. Sad, really.

Another repetitive wingnut babbling to himself.

  219. good god, a couple hundred in a militia group equate to 50 million republican voters??What is that? 1000th of 1% of the voting bloc?

What an asisine statement. Far right my a#s. They don't represent the party in any way. get a fricking grip

  220. The lies from the left regarding the immigration law in Arizona is off the charts. How can you people look in the mirror? You know full well the bill specifically makes it illegal to profile. It says so in the bill, and we have Obama LYING in his Ottumwa Iowa stop.

You people don't have the courage to debate the actual bill

  221. The tea party people don't want to be taxed up the a#s.

Apparently, that has been morphed into "Racists", Bigots" by the libby media

  222. Compassionate. Nice word. My idea of compassion isn't taking money from others and giving it to people and then holding hands and singing praises to all of my progressive brethren as if you solved anything except helping to keep people in the chains of dependancy.

Any intelligent, thinking self aware, compassionate human being would surely hate what progressives like you stand for.

But tell me again how compassion squares away with your wish that Saddam's murderous regime would have stayed in power.

  223. LOL…

Compassionate is not taking other people's money to give to another group and make them wallow in the mire of continual dependance, Ann. That's in fact cruel and unusual.

So…."any intelligent thinking, self-aware, compassionate human being would hate progressives and all they stand for." See! Anyone can play your game!

Good to see also you are on record as approving Saddam Hussein's murder of nearly 1 million Iraqi's.

  224. We are a great country. Why does your ilk–especially Obama, have to conduct a world-wide apology tour? turning us into p#ssies

  226. I dont have anything to fear, from anyone, Si.

  227. When did you receive you medal of honor???

  228. With out rich people, who will create jobs in this country? I never said that the right is perfect.

  229. Once is enough, croega. We won't get far discussing theology, since we have very different views of the universe and our place in it. However, how do you square your defense of the rich with Christ's admonition, "it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter Heaven?"

  230. His ministry is to save lost souls.

  231. His minsitry is to save lost souls.

  232. croega, if the wealthy can increase their wealth without creating jobs, that's what they'll do. Why do you spend so much energy defending the rich and disrespecting gays, but say nothing about Christ's ministry to the poor?

Better examine that title deed: the Brooklyn Bridge was never up for sale.

  233. croega, if the wealthy can increase their wealth without creating jobs, that's what they'll do. Why do you spend so much energy defending the rich and disrespecting gays, but say nothing about Christ's ministry to the poor?

Better examine that title deed: the Brooklyn Bridge was never up for sale.

  234. I don't know what that has to do with what I said.

But since you went there, how about this? What would the rich do without the poor to do their work?

  235. I don't know what that has to do with what I said.

But since you went there, how about this? What would the rich do without the poor to do their work?

  236. Yeah, I noticed that. Not so veiled threats.

  237. Sorry for the duplication, for some reason that happens. Salvation is found in Christ not wealth.

  238. croega, in my mind, "salvation" is to be found in contemplating the stars of the night sky, the inner lives of animals, and in good-hearted human beings.

My decision about being christian was made after I was told by a "born-again" roommate in college that I would go to He** if I did not acept Christ as my savior.

  239. You have NO clue what i stand for.

  240. What IS your idea of compas sion? Sending your sons and daughters to go fight and di e in a war so you can keep your stock in the oil companys going, keep the money in YOUR pocket.? As long as YOU dont have to risk yer a s s, eh?
    e v i l.

  241. BH has no clue most of the time. Period.

  242. After reading close to 500 posts in your profile, I have a real good idea what you are about, Ann…

  243. Ad hom much BH?

Go fight your battles, do a good job, come back safe and leave the rest of us to debate your worthines s on these boards while you're gone.

    Done feeding this troll.

  244. Contemplation through the crack of the door.
Furthering for the perseverance of a woman.

Through the crack of the door one has a limited outlook; one looks outward from within. Contemplation is subjectively limited. One tends to relate everything to oneself and cannot put oneself in another's place and understand his motives. This is appropriate for a good housewife. It is not necessary for her to be conversant with the affairs of the world. But for a man who must take active part in public life, such a narrow, egotistic way of contemplating things is of course harmful.

  245. He puts me to mind the larry Linville character on MASH, Major Burns…lol!

  246. Troll on this one time. You ad hom as well as anyone on this site. Intellectually weak.

Don't worry…better men/women then you have/will answer their nation's call and take care of business…regardless how much you may whine and gnash your teeth over it.

  247. True that. i should just ignore him, he is just so irritatingly arrogant…
A caustic agent, like lye in the brain…

  248. Says the "troll"…

  249. Then ignore me, it will save me having to answer stupid questions from you about "risk".

But it is a typical progressive response. Ensure to paint your opponent as "add your adjective", simply because they believe different from you.

If it helps you sleep at night, I feel the exact same about you.

  250. My idea of compassion is that the individual be allowed to live his or her life with the freedoms and liberty the Delcaration and Constitution spell out, minus unecessary involvement by the federal government into their lives. Charitable giving in the 1980's was at its highest level ever, you know, the "decade of greed?"

BTW…I am currently in my 22nd year of military service and have deployed twice away from my family and preparing to deploy to Iraq for a second time very soon. Don't ever talk to me about risk.

  251. In order for your opinion to mean anything to me i would have to have respect for you. That will never happen, so I do have to say-ignore me- the ONLY smart thing you have ever suggested.

    Done.

  252. I'm an NCO…you probably don't know the difference…

  253. Stop me Ann!!! I'm failing in not feeding the trolls tonight…..

  254. Whatever BH, whatever,

Troll on…..no teeth gnashing going on here…..

No love or respect lost on you either……

Intellectually weak? That's rich coming from one who ad homs then cries when someone fights back….You have nothing to offer on here most of the time except ad homs and biased crap that when refuted with the unvarnished truth is met with more biased crap.

    Done feeding this troll……

  255. I know, it is hard not to. On the one hand, they can be infuriating in their stubborn persistance in following one around, annoyingly like gnats buzzing about your head..and on the other, I sort of feel sorry for them being trapped in their narrow hateful mindset. I am thinking there is nothing really to fear, their bark is worse than their bite…it doesnt hurt to feed them once in a while. Keeps their self esteem up…lol

  256. That is the 1st thing i think of when I read on of BH's posts, instantly came to mind, from the I-Ching, Hexagram 20. 2nd line..

  257. Apart from Christ, there is no other salvation. I feel sorry for you.

  258. Spare me your sympathy, croega. Once again, you make a sectarian argument to someone who obviously does not share your faith.

I simply reject the christian premise that there is only "one way" to "salvation," whatever THAT is. Spirit dwells in all of us, it is simply a matter of how we choose to express it.

  259. How about you clean my sheath?

  260. You're new to this forum I see, judging from your reputation score. Soon you'll learn who the truly vulgar and controversial posters on here are and who are not.

    Until then save it.

  261. Who appointed you admin?

Nope, I'll just keep doin' what I've always been doin'.

  262. Good luck with that. No changes in posting habits being made here. Move along….

  263. Do you see the "Report" link by every comment? Let admin know, and THEY make the determination.

    Knock yourself out, ThePolice.

  264. Due to many complaints we have had regarding controversial, vulgar, and inappropriate comments made by users, we have begun to actively monitor many comment streams. Thank you.

  265. "All I ask of livin'
Is to have no chains on me."

    Blood, Sweat, and Tears

  266. Still claiming to be admin eh?

    Nice try robot.

  267. The REAL admin appears.

Given the robotic "thank you," and the sudden appearance of ThePolice in a conversation I was having with croega, I'm thinking multiple personality disorder.

  268. Given the low rep score I think you're r i g h t.

  269. One problem: this bozo can spell. croega couldn't spell her way out of a wet paper bag.
