A group of workers who say they have been "locked out" of a Muscatine company protested in front of the Proctor and Gamble manufacturing plant on Lower Muscatine Road in Iowa City today.

William Poggemiller said the picketers represent workers from the Grain Processing Corporation in Muscatine, which produces alcohol for Proctor and Gamble. A dispute over a contact between the Muscatine company and the United Food and Commercial Workers union has left hundreds of grain processing employees out of work for 20 months, Poggemiller said.

The group is seeking a "fair contract" with the Muscatine company, Poggemiller said.
