Here are some sights and sounds from Iowa’s spring football practice Wednesday at the Kenyon Practice Facility.
First, quick notes. Center Josh Koeppel and fullback Brett Morse weren’t dressed. Koeppel is locked in a battle with James Ferentz for the No. 1 spot.
Others not dressed included RB Jewel Hampton (I saw him on a scooter, probably resting his knee today), WR Derrell Johnson-Koulianos (maybe a class?), OL Nolan MacMillan (sports hernia), DE Dominic Alvis (groin), WR Paul Chaney Jr. (knee), safeties Brett Greenwood and Tyler Sash (shoulders), DL Marty Hopkins (undisclosed), DE Joe Gaglione (shoulder).
Starting OL was Riley Reiff (LT), Julian Vandervelde (LG), James Ferentz (C), Adam Gettis (G) and Markus Zusevics (RT). LBs were Troy Johnson (MLB), Jeremiha Hunter (WLB) and Tyler Nielsen (OLB).
RB Brandon Wegher was the only of the triumverate of Adam Robinson (shoulder) and Hampton (knee) dressed.
