Iowa Coach Todd Lickliter said suspended guard Anthony Tucker will return to school for the second semester and likely be reinstated later in the season.
“It looks like that’s what’s going to happen,” Lickliter said this morning. “We’re going to wait and move forward as we can. There obviously will be some criteria for him to be re-established. Eventually it looks like that will happen.”
Tucker was arrested for public intoxication on Dec. 20, his second offense for that charge. He pleaded guilty on Dec. 28.
Lickliter also sent out well-wishes to former player Jake Kelly, who suffered a torn ACL in his left knee Tuesday night. Kelly, who transferred from Iowa to Indiana State in the off-season, is out for the season.
“He’s a guy who absolutely lives to play,” Lickliter said. “I know he’ll good get support, and I wish him the best.”
