ANGERER & BULAGA NAMED ALL-AMERICAN

(From UI sports information) IOWA CITY, IA – University of Iowa linebacker Pat Angerer and offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga have been named to the 2009 Walter Camp all-America team. Both Hawkeyes were named to the second unit of the prestigious all-America team.

Angerer, a 6-1, 235-pound senior from Bettendorf, IA was easily Iowa’s leading tackler for the second straight year. Angerer has 248 career tackles to rank 12th on Iowa’s all-time list. All but six of his career tackles came in the last two seasons. He was also on the watch lists for the Butkus, Bednarik and Lott Trophies.

Bulaga, a 6-6, 315-pound junior from Crystal Lake, IL, started nine of 12 games this season (he was injured for three contests) and has 27 career starts in the offensive line. He was named the Big Ten’s Offensive Lineman of the Year and was a first team all-league pick by the coaches and the media. He was named to the Outland Trophy and Rotary Lombardi award pre-season watch lists.
