This database shows all criminal and traffic charges filed in Linn and Johnson counties since Jan. 1, 2007. This includes everything from felony charges to traffic tickets.

Simply clicking the search button without entering anything into the boxes will reveal all records within the database. Searching by description of the charge will show all people charged with a particular offense. Entering a date will narrow search results by showing charges filed since that particular day.

The database is currently showing charges filed before Feb. 1, 2008. The database will be updated monthly, typically around the 15th of the month.

The information in this database is available as public records and was obtained from the Iowa Judicial Branch.

In order to see whether a person has been charged with multiple charges, it is necessary to include the defendant’s name in your search of the database.

Results may show the defendant’s name listed multiple times with the same case number and incident date. This does not necessarily mean there are multiple charges. This occurs when the case has been resolved. Each record then indicates a different portion of the sentence which is imposed, including community service, jail, credit for time served, probation, etc.
